Business Sectors

There are many ways to classify institutions according to sectors. You can separate institutions to four large sectors: primary sector, secondary sector, tertiary sector and public sector. There is fifth sector which includes government institutions and organizations which work related to the government.

Important Four Sectors

Primary Sector: It serves as the basic of all businesses. It is wholly production-oriented. This sector includes mining, fishing, agriculture, forestry sectors.

Secondary Sector: After raw materials are processed, secondary sector turns them into products. Manufacture and industry sectors are within the secondary sector.

Tertiary Sector: Tertiary sector includes retail, restaurant, hotel and institutions which make selling by buying the products which are produced by primary and secondary sector. Tertiary sector carries the products to other institutions and it includes transportation industry which offers these products to the customers.

Public Sector: This sector includes institutions which belong to the government and are processed by the government, we can give examples to public sector like schools, libraries, etc.
